All Attendees must complete a 2-part test in order to receive the

  • Fundamentals of Clinical Trials and Research Ethics Standards Certificate
  • Good Clinical Practice Training Certificate

DIRECTIONS: The first test is an Clinical Trials Ethics & Research Ethics Standards Test. An electronic and paper copy of the test will be sent to all attendees. This portion of the test will require attendees to visit websites linked to this webpage. You will need approximately 8.5 hours to review the on-line videos, listen to media, and read articles.

Review this segment on clinical trials ethics. Evaluate some of the issures associated with informed consent. Consider the perspective from the patient (research participant) and physicians obligation as an investigator. 

The Tuskeegee Experiment is one of the nation's most  historical and grievous clinical trials ethics case on the USA.  The study involved: 399 black men with syphilis that went untreated so scientists could study how the disease ravages the body.



Lecture explores the fundamentals of clinical trials and the complexities of clinical trials (clincial trial design, informed consent, expectations).

Evaluates strategies to help the patient make decisions that are compatible with their beliefs and values.

Reading Articles (Clinical Trials)

Video evaluates the various clinical research methods. Explores outcomes and exposure and randomized clinical trial (RCT)

Ethical issues associated with clinical research and Tuskegee Experiment.

Reviews international clinical research ethics and the conduct of clinical trials.

Provides 7 principles of clinical research ethics and  protection of participants.
